Educational aid to poor students in the vicinity of the ashram.
SGS Ashram Velacherry, Chennai, 30th july 2011.

In all 500 poor students were given School bag, Note books, Geometry box and other stationery items. Sri Swamiji's picture was printed on the bags. Front cover of note books bear the picture of Sri Swamiji blessing with both hands. On the back side cover 11 sayings of Sri Swamiji which were hand picked from Sri Swamiji's message to Vidyaaarthi Gnanabodha Sabha were printed. All these note books were gifted by Mr. Lakshmi Narayanan and Dharmambal couple who are the illustrious parents of one of our ace volunteers MS Srimathi. This is the second consecutive year of this good gesture from this ever supportive family. Chief Guest: Dean of Chettynad Hospital and Research Institute was the chief guest.

Chennai ashram Trustee Sri Ramani spoke about the mission of Sri Swamiji and the activities of the ashram. Trustee Sankaran honoured the guests. Dr. Siva gave the welcome speech. Sri Cheran ineteracted well with students and volunteers and made it very entertaining. Sudha, Preethi and Aishwarya sang the universal prayer. All the invited guests spoke and appreciated the efforts of the team. Orphanage Vallalar Illam students were given the educational aid on stage by the guests.

All were treated to a sumptuous lunch prepared by professional cooks who are patients of SGS Charitable Clinic. All sang the National Anthem in chorus and the function came to an end with distribution of educational aid to all children by volunteers. Sri.Murali Babu sponsored the printing. Write up on Sri Swamiji was given by Mr.Srinivasamoorthy, editor Tamil Bhakthimala. These was handed over to all children.

Games were conducted as part of the function by our Volunteer Mr Thamaraikkannan well assisted by Messrs Rajesh kumar, Krishnamoorthy, Saravanan M, Satish etc. All other volunteers supported. Mr. Vijayaraghavan and his group of about 30 people took care of catering. Photos and videos done by ashram photographer Mr.Ganesan.

With your Blessings of Sri Swamiji we propose to support 1000 poor students to celebrate Deepavali. The function is slated for 16th October 2011. All children will be given a dress coupon worth Rs 500 and a packet of sweets.
